Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to keep an open home, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it.
-- Hebrews 13:1-2
Last night ended with some poker with Blair, Jeff, Courtney, Seth, Jon, Tracy and others -- I'm not very good at the
game, but we had a lot of fun and I caught on eventually (although I lost 6 dollars). It was good to hear a little bit about what's going on in their lives and
they gave me some great pointers on what to see and do in California... so, my plans and routes have changed a little bit for the better.
After I left the guys house, I headed out to the Tide Pools near the Cabrillo Monument. It was basically a narrow strip of land at which you could see both sides
of the San Diego bay with a great view of the Naval Station, downtown and the Pacific ocean all from one spot. Luckily I got there at low tide, so I could see all the sea animals
exposed on the rocks, I climbed through the caverns and just relaxed in the hot sun, cool breeze and salty air. It was a good time for me to think, pray and watch
F-18's land at the Naval Base.
Other than that, the theme of today was hanging out with old friends and appreciating their gracious hospitality. I've been amazed by how Camie, Blair and Jenn all opened
their homes for showers, food, good conversation, comfortable beds and couches... Thank you all so much! Jenn actually took me to the longest pier on the West coast
just outside her home... Though not much worth mentioning happened today, I definately appreciated having a slow-paced day to relax and hang out with some friends before I
get in the car and drive about 10 hours up the coast to San Francisco tomorrow... Plus, I
had dinner at my favorite fast food restaurant: In'N'Out Burger... that place has the best burgers and fries anywhere.
Thank you to all of you that have called, emailed and prayed for me over the past
couple of days.
